Production of Merchandise
All merchandise, including items intended for the department鈥檚 own use, must be produced by an officially licensed vendor. Licensed vendors are required to submit all artwork to UMass Trademark & Licensing Office for approval to ensure proper use of UMass trademarks. UMass Trademark & Licensing Office reserves the right to review and address any trademark usage that does not comply with university guidelines.
Fundraising & Commercial Use
Commercial use of trademarks in fundraising merchandise refers to the use of protected brand names, logos, or symbols on items sold to raise funds, where such use promotes or benefits a business or organization. This use typically requires permission or licensing from the trademark owner and is subject to an intellectual property (IP) royalty rate of 15% of the wholesale price.
